Is “juicing” a good way to lose weight? Can you use “juicing” as a
means to lose weight quickly? To answer both those questions in a word,
yes. Juicing, or utilizing a commercial “juicer” to squeeze the juice
from fresh fruits and vegetable is an excellent means of losing weight
in both the short term and long term.
“Juicing” for the short term implies that you would be only drinking
the juice of high nutrient organic fruits and vegetables for no more
than 3 days in a row. You wouldn’t want to go beyond that for health
reasons but “juicing” in this manor will do a couple of great things for
your body. One, “juicing” allows your body to be flooded with vitamins,
minerals, and enzymes your body needs in order to flush out toxins that
are hiding inside your fat cells. Two, “juicing” gives you digestive
tract a break from its heavy duty job of digesting all the foods, good
and bad, that you’ve put into your body over the years. This means of
detoxing is incredibly healthy and completely doable in the short haul.
In doing this for 2 to 3 days, you will lose weight but it may be
primarily water weight.
In the long term, continuing to “juice” several times a day between
meals will help you to lose weight as well but in a slower, healthier
long-term process. I have found that by supplementing a nice fruit and
veggie smoothie instead of a high calorie snack keeps me fuller longer
in between meals. It’s a much lower calorie snack that fills you up so
you can make it to the next meal. Try it and see if it helps you as
well.
